Fall Leadership Conference

Embassy Inn and Suites, Charleston West Virginia

This November, West Virginia Educators Rising students came together for their first major event of the year: the Fall Leadership Conference held in Charleston at the Embassy Inn & Suites. We were honored to welcome two guest speakers: Dawn Miller from Read Aloud WV, who spoke on the importance of reading to students; and Tiambra Collins, a student from West Virginia State University who spoke on the pathways you can take to become a teacher. Attendees also participated in hands-on workshops led by their West Virginia state officer team. These breakout sessions included spontaneous lesson planning, team building through group games, a presentation on the essence of Educator’s Rising, and hands on experience through simulated teacher scenarios. The conference was focused around community-building, developing team work and leadership skills, welcoming new members, encouraging connection among participants, and overall showing what Educator’s Rising is really about.
